It's difficult bc usually I'm the one who IS in the "not such a good" mood, so if I give you any advice it'd be only from the perspective of what would I expect from you as the person next to me.
I would expect from you that you behave in a way that I could understand in that precise moment that you are a reliable person. I would want you to be there for me, but not exactly with the words "I'm there".
It's always better to show your feelings with actions, along with words of course, but what I mean is that words aren't always enough.
Specially if you have problems to express yourself through words...
The point is being there.
And sometimes that means giving the other person some space, and sometimes getting closer to that person, as you said. That depends on the situation and, basically, it depends on your instincts.
Guess you'll have to trust them, after all.
Am I making any sense?
